The Norwegian international travel mart, Reiseliv 2007, which lasted between 11 and 14 of January, was the first event in the exhibition list. The mart has been held annually since 1987 and actually it is one of the biggest and most important travel events in Norway for the local as well as for the international players of tourism business.
This year more than 1 000 companies from 60 countries, 50 000 business representatives, professional visitors, media and tourist enthusiasts visited the fair.
Not less successful VODOHOD took part in Finnish international travel fair MATKA 2007 which is the largest tourism event in Northern Europe. MATKA 2007, held between 18-21 of January, was marked by the record number of visitors – more than 86 000 (in comparison with 78 000 visitors in 2006). More than 1150 professional travel organizations from 69 countries were represented at the fair.
Most numerous among international exhibitors were travel market representatives from Russia (more than 700), Estonia (around 430) and Sweden (around 170). Our partners and colleagues “VODOHOD – St.Petersburg” Cruise Company also took part in the exhibition.
Participation in international travel fairs successfully resulted in many new contacts and has proved considerable interest to Russian river cruises from the side not only tourism professionals but general public as well. Norwegian travel fair Reiseliv 2007 can be estimated as most efficient in terms of business meetings and strategic negotiations. Nevertheless, unfailing fancy of Finnish visitors for Russia at MATKA fair was a particular delight.
We hope that participation in main international travel fairs will contribute the increase of incoming touristic flow to Russia
